About Staff Selection Commission
Recruitment for Non-technical posts under group C and technical and non-technical posts (non-gazette category) under group D are done through Staff Selection Commission in various offices and department of government of India. In addition to recruitment of these posts SSC also has the responsibility to conduct internal promotional examination for various posts like Group D to lower division clerk (LDC) grade and from LDC to UDC grade and for Stenographers grade D posts etc.

Pay scale for Matric Level examination for the post of LDC is – 3050-4500, for Steno D its 4000-6000 and for Steno C it is 5500-9000.
